1. To promote research on East Asia cooperation in economic, political,
   security or cultural relationship with a view to improve cooperation
   between countries in the East Asian region.
2. To strengthen the academic network between Indonesian research
   institutions with similar institutions in East Asian countries, through join
   research, seminar, workshop, and publication.
3. To build linkages with government institutions, particularly with the
   Indonesian Departemen of Foreign Affairs, as well as with the Indonesian
   business community through holding joint research, seminars and
   workshops on multidimensional issues in East Asia cooperation.
4. To disseminate the research finding through seminars, workshops and
   publications with a view to better develop public understanding of East
   Asia cooperation, particularly than among the younger generations.
5. To compile basic information, such as statistical data and official
   documents, concerning East Asian cooperation.
6. To establish an electronic journal focusing on matters related to civil
   society in East Asia.
7. To encourage academic exchange programs between scholars in East
   Asia region.
